THIRD SERIES OF INDONESIA SUSTAINABILITY SEMINAR 2018

It was another success Seminar! The third series of the Indonesia Sustainability Seminar 2018 at Raffles Jakarta (08/08) was fully attended by MVB members and representatives from Corporation.

With theme Being an Ethical Employer and Integrating Sustainability Into Management Practice, the seminar was opened by an introduction from Alistair Speirs, Chairman of MVB Indonesia who shared the important of being an ethical employer and employees, where each one understand and respect the rights and obligation of one another. This message was shown in “Our Credo” a sample taken from the Johnson and Johnson Code of Conduct.

The seminar then continued with the first main speaker, Mr. Didier Perez, General Director PT. Pran Indo Permata Abadi (PIPA). As a water efficiency expert, Didier explained about the important of water losses management and network optimization to achieve greater sustainability and efficiency in a business.

Next as the main speaker, Ami Fitri Utami, SE., MSM, Lecturer Specialist S2 (LS-S2) -

Strategic Management & Business Organization Management Program from BINA NUSANTARA UNIVERSITY featured about what and how to be an ethical employer from the academic perspective.

The program then continued with presentations from MVB Knowledge Partners, whom each one have a very special program that they would like to share to the MVB members. CEO of Towards Sustainable Businessed (TSB), Claire Quillet explained that when it comes to sanitation and hygine, by doing a simple thing like washing your hands, it actually has create a huge and multiple impact in your daily life. The ‘WASH’ Pledge allow employers to oversee and take action at improving the needs to have a better and proper water sanitation and care for employee hygine in the work place area.

Next speaker we have Sukma Putra, Manager of Case Center from BINUS UNIVERSITY who shared from A to Z about the essential of having a case studies for companies to help promoting your product or business. And the program continued with Faiza Fauziah as Stakeholder Engagement and Development of Waste4Change who shared their recent campaign on recycle which is how to manage your waste responsibly.

Last on the program was panel discussion where we invited top level representatives from reputable companies to share about their story on ethical employer and link it with environment, economy and society. First panel was Reza Andreanto, Environment Manager PT. Tetra Pak Indonesia who shared and explained about sustainable packaging and how we can help the environment and community by chosing products that used sustainable or recyclable packages. Benoit Prim as Founder and Director of InEcoSolar as the second panelist explained about how energy works and the good opportunity in Indonesia to convert energy by using solar panels. Our last panel speaker was the President Director of PT. Bank BNP Paribas, Luc Cardyn who explained that in the financial institution its equally important to have a Code of Conduct to differentiate your business from the others, and those includes treating your employees and colleagues with respect, identify customer needs and interest, being transparant at everything you do and choose to only support sustainable businesses that can make positive changes in the communities.
